关于 纽约巨人
The New York Giants football team who compete in the National Football Conference’s East Division isone of the most successful teams in the whole history of American pro-sport.
The Giants play an important part in NFL history being one of only five teams joining up 1925, as well as being the only one of that group still in existence. They are the league's longest-established team in the North-eastern United States. In the roster of all NFL franchises, the Giants emerge in third place. Their tally includes eight NFL titles: four in the pre–Super Bowl era (1927, 1934, 1938, 1956) and four since the arrival of Super Bowl (Super Bowls XXI (1986), XXV (1990), XLII (2007), and XLVI (2011)).
They also boast more championship appearances than any other team, with 19 overall appearances. Their championship tally is surpassed only by the Green Bay Packers (13) and Chicago Bears (9) and during their history, the Giants have featured no fewer than 28 Hall of Fame players.
Since 2010 the Giants have played in MetLife Stadium which is “over the river” in New Jersey (as was their previous stadium) in a unique sharing operation with the New York Jets. Consequently their fan base is shared throughout the metropolitan New York area with both States claiming them as their own! Their name was confused with the baseball team the Giants although that problem eased when the baseball team became the San Francisco Giants after their 1976 move.
Many great players have been proud to wear the insignia of the Giants in not far short of a hundred years of sporting excellence. Frank Gifford was once arguably the most celebrated athlete in America. In his prime, Gifford was a full-time, two-way player who started at running back and cornerback, and could rotate back under center to sling passes as quarterback in a pinch.
Eli Manning played a key role in two Super Bowl victories, 2007 and 2011, in both of which he walked away with a MVP award. In the latter success, , Manning led a 9-7 NFC Wild Card team back to the Promised Land, after completing 65% of his passes for 1,219 yards and 9 touchdowns through the postseason.
At his best, Michael Strahan was the greatest sack artist of his generation. In all, Strahan closed out his 15-year career as a Giant with 141.5 sacks, then good for fifth of all time. That included a 2001 season where he powered his way to 22.5 sacks, the standing single-season record.
Lawrence Taylor was arguably the greatest defensive weapon of all time, taking home FL MVP honors in 1986 after terrorizing offenses for 20.5 sacks. Behind LT, the 1986 Giants gave up a mere 14.8 points per game, going 14-2 overall. On the backstretch of his career, Lawrence Taylor helped the Giants claim another Super Bowl, against the Bills in 1990.
