关于 达拉斯牛仔
Depending on whom you ask, the Dallas Cowboys are the greatest franchise to ever grace the gridiron. Sure, the Green Bay Packers boast more NFL championships and the Pittsburgh Steelers more Super Bowls. The Chicago Bears have more regular season wins too. But still, the Cowboys are America’s Team which is indeed one of their nicknames along with Doomsday Defense, The 'Boys and Big D.
The Cowboys joined the NFL as an expansion team in 1960. The team's national following might best be represented by its NFL record of consecutive sell-outs. The Cowboys' streak of 190 consecutive sold-out regular and post-season games (home and away) began in 2002.The franchise shares the record of eight for most Super Bowl appearances with the Pittsburgh Steelers, New England Patriots, and the Denver Broncos, corresponding to most NFC championships . The Cowboys won five of those Super Bowl appearances, tying them with their NFC rivals, the San Francisco 49ers, both are second to Pittsburgh's record six Super Bowl championships. The Cowboys are the only NFL team to record 20 straight winning seasons (1966–85), in which they only missed the playoffs twice (1974 and 1984), an NFL record that remains unchallenged.
While most NFL franchises string together a few strong seasons here and there, Dallas has managed to compete in every single era. Because of that, there aren’t many Top-50 players’ lists deeper than Big D’s. Here are four great names:
Wide receiver Drew Pearson, was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Dallas Cowboys, where he rose to become one of the NFL's greatest wide receivers, earning career records of 489 receptions and 7,822 receiving yards, along with 189 rushing yards, 155 yards returning kickoffs, and 50 touchdowns (48 receiving and two fumble recoveries). Pearson was named one of the Top 20 Pro Football All-Time wide receivers, he was also recognized for his achievements by being named to the NFL 1970s All-Decade Team.
Cornerback Larry Brown was a man who rose to the big occasion and will specially be remembered for his MVP performance in Super Bowl XXX. During the season he could be an average performer but when it came postseason time, No. 24 found another gear. He shut down several big names during the Cowboys' three Super Bowl titles in the 1990s.
During the 1970s, Dallas had the "Doomsday Defense" powered by linebacker Randy White. White posted nine consecutive Pro Bowl seasons and was one of two men to hoist the Super Bowl XII MVP trophy. Nicknamed "The Manster" (half man, half monster), White was everything a coach could ask for in a defensive player.
Emmitt Smith, powered the Cowboys' 1990s offense and brought three Super Bowl titles to Big D in the process. Smith played each game like it was his last, and because of his incredible drive he became one of the greatest running backs to ever step onto an NFL field.
